Darcy Dennett
Darcy Dennett is an award-winning director and producer based in New York City and the founder of Fireflyfilmworks. Her work centers on character-driven documentary and television projects that explore resilience, justice, and the human–animal bond, with a focus on intimate stories that inspire empathy and change.
She directed and executive produced The Champions (Netflix, 2016), the acclaimed feature documentary about the pit bulls rescued from the Michael Vick case, an enduring story of survival, care, and second chances. The film premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival, received the Giving Voice to the Voiceless Award, and won the Denver Film Festival Starz People’s Choice Award for Best Documentary.
Dennett has directed and produced projects for National Geographic, HBO, CNN, and Netflix, and brings extensive global production experience to her independent work.
