Emily Abi-Kheirs

Emily Abi-Kheirs is a documentary industry professional with experience in programming, distribution, and artist development. In 2022, she was recognized as a Documentary New Leader by DOC NYC for her work to create a more inclusive and equitable documentary field through intentional community building and creative collaboration. Previously, she was the Manager of Filmmaker Services at Women Make Movies where she supported women and femme-identifying filmmakers by connecting artists to industry leaders, opportunities, and resources. She began her career at WORLD Channel, where she worked in a variety of capacities, including digital content strategy, contracts and production management, and programming for their award-winning documentary series: America Reframed, Doc World, and Local, USA. She was the Assistant Program Director for the 2023 Salem Film Fest and the Chair of the 2022 and 2021 IDA Documentary Awards for Best Curated Series. In 2022, she attended IDA’s Getting Real Conference as an inaugural fellow and the 67th Flaherty Film Seminar as a LEF New England Fellow.
