With more than 20 years as a creative executive at the History Channel, John Verhoff brings unmatched experience in developing award-winning television and documentary content. His work has earned three National Emmy Award nominations, including one Emmy win, and shaped some of television’s most successful and enduring history series, such as Swamp People, Vikings, Mountain Men, Ice Road Truckers, and Modern Marvels.
Beyond his tenure at History Channel, John’s versatile career includes producing live news and news-related broadcasts for Fox News Channel and Court TV. He’s also produced acclaimed special projects for national landmarks and cultural institutions, including Ellis Island, The Smithsonian, The World War II Memorial, and the Caumsett Foundation, for whom he and his team recently created three films showcasing the history and natural beauty of Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve on Long Island’s North Shore.
John now leads Big Idea Media to explore a world of new possibilities — delivering content that informs, inspires, and entertains across platforms.
