Julie Mallozzi’s films explore the transformative power of traditional cultural practices in the contemporary world. Her films have won awards at festivals around the world and have screened in museums, universities, and on public television. A member of New Day Films, she is passionate about leveraging the power of film to create social impact. Mallozzi grew up with a Chinese-American mother and an Italian-American father in rural Ohio – where her family managed a Native American historical site. She received her MFA from San Francisco Art Institute and her BA from Harvard University, where she teaches filmmaking and administratively directs its Film Study Center.
