Lauren Wimbush

Wimbush is a nonfiction filmmaker whose work spans archival and character-driven storytelling, including producing the duPont–Columbia Award-winning Birthing a Nation: The Resistance of Mary Gaffney, serving as the Archival Producer on the Academy Award winning short The Only Girl In The Orchestra (2025), co-producing The American Dream & Other Fairy Tales (Sundance 2022), and serving as Associate Producer on the Emmy-winning Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool (Firelight/PBS). She is dedicated to telling compelling and thought provoking non-fiction stories featuring underrepresented characters, communities, and experiences.
