Marty Pack
Marty Pack, M.A. · Exec MPA, is the Founder of Wail of a Tale Productions, a women founded and women led 501(c)(3) documentary nonprofit, and Executive Producer of The Air We Share. A subject matter expert in regulatory affairs for Long COVID biorisk and biosafety, she is a documentary filmmaker, creative producer, and researcher with more than a decade and a half of independent film work at the intersection of public health, American institutions, and the humanities.
The Air We Share is a humanities documentary examining the air inside America’s public schools and what it means for the health of American students and the future of public education. It is the project for which Wail of a Tale Productions partners with the Center for Independent Documentary.
Marty’s earlier films were built to function as durable institutional tools for American audiences. The Takeover of Testing was the first documentary to capture the American school to prison pipeline in real time, and it educated and mobilized tens of thousands of American parents and activists in the Opt Out movement. Maria’s Story, Undocumented Violence was adopted by the Archdiocese of Chicago Domestic Violence Outreach Program for use in its work with survivors and used for Social Worker student education.
Marty’s academic background spans research, communication, and public administration. She holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Northeastern Illinois University, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication earned summa cum laude, and an Executive Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver, and she trained at The Second City in Chicago. Drawing on that research foundation, she created the COVID Mitigation ROI Economic Model, a scholarly analysis built on 121 peer reviewed sources, with a methodology aligned with and verified through the OECD’s research framework on the costs and care of Long COVID. A former Public Health Investigator with Grand County Public Health, she has been embedded in the Long COVID research community since August 2020.
