Nile Southern

Nile Southern apprenticed as an editor with Pablo Ferro, and worked for D.A. Pennebaker Associates in NYC. His book The Candy Men: The Rollicking Life and Times of the Notorious Novel CANDY, now in paperback, won ‘Book of the Year’ for Creative Non-Fiction in Colorado. An independent filmmaker in NYC, his work appeared at LaMaMa, Theater for the New City, MOMA, and on Nickelodeon, MTV and the Ovation Arts network. Nile has been archivist and Literary Executor for his father (Terry Southern)’s literary Estate, and has edited many Terry Southern collections, including (with Josh Alan Friedman) Now Dig This, the Unspeakable Writings of Terry Southern, 1950-1995 (Grove/Atlantic), Yours in Haste and Adoration; The Selected Letters of Terry Southern (Antibook); Chicago ’68, The Calm Before the Storm (Genius Publishers); and most recently, The Hipsters (Antibook). Nile has attended UCLA and NYU film schools.
