Paul Bonesteel

Paul Bonesteel grew up with a super 8mm camera in his hands making his first documentary in 1990, followed by more than a dozen full- length documentary films. Notable work includes; CARIBOU BONES, THE MYSTERY OF GEORGE MASA, FOLKMOOT USA, THE GREAT AMERICAN QUILT REVIVAL. In 2012, PBS’ American Masters broadcast the award-winning THE DAY CARL SANDBURG DIED followed by AMERICA’S FIRST FOREST, and MUNI, a love letter to the game of golf as told by the African-American caddies on a municipal golf course. And in 2023 the 4 part episodic series SHADOW OF A WHEEL, told the story of 31 American teenagers who rode bicycles across the United States in 1982 for Multiple Sclerosis, sharing an inspirational journey that resonated throughout their
lifetime, airing on PBS, Outside TV and playing at numerous festivals. Paul believes passionately that people’s unique experience, and in fact, all of history can be instructive and inspiring.
