Sadi Uqaili

Sadia Uqaili is a Pakistani American award-winning artist, filmmaker, educator and activist. Uqaili utilizes the camera and her art to inspire, motivate, heal, and celebrate life across borders as a creative, perpetual migrant. Having lived in five different countries on two continents, she has had the fortune to experience a panoply of cultures and the people who make them thrive. As a Kartemquin fellow, she is currently producing a feature-length documentary on the life and work of the iconic Asian American novelist Bapsi Sidhwa.

Winner of the Chicago South Asian Film Festival Jury Award, Wild Things was a short film produced under her direction at Snow City Arts, an arts education program serving at-risk youth in Chicago hospitals that Sadia led as Artistic Director for 15 years. Before this, she served as the arts mentor at the Edmonton Center for Survivors of Torture and Trauma.

In 2025, she served on the jury for the Documentary Shorts category at the 61st Chicago International Film Festival and on the jury for the Jonathan Laxamana Emerging Filmmaker Award at the Asian American Showcase.
