Sarah Gibson
Sarah Gibson has produced ten social justice documentary feature films and series including three Sundance Film Festival Competition Features: FED UP (2014), I.O.U.S.A. (2008) and (2006). FED UP, Executive Produced by Katie Couric and Laurie David was distributed by Radius (TWC) and was the highest grossing documentary feature film of 2014. I.O.U.S.A. premiered in cooperation with Warren Buffett, was distributed by Roadside Attractions and was shortlisted for an Academy Award. SMALL TOWN GAY BAR was purchased by Showtime and won the GLAAD award for best documentary in 2008. COOL IT premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, was acquired by Lions Gate Pictures and was distributed by Roadside Attractions. In April 2017, Sarah produced LA92; the 25th Anniversary documentary feature film on the Los Angeles riots with Oscar-winning team Simon and Jonathan Chinn for Fox/National Geographic Channel. LA92 premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival won a Primetime Emmy and was shortlisted for an Academy Award. In fall 2017, Sarah premiered two films: THE CHINA HUSTLE, a documentary feature produced with Mark Cuban, Frank Marshall and Alex Gibney which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and the 2018 Emmy-nominated WHAT HAUNTS US, produced with Frank Marshall and Matt Tolmach, the film won numerous awards on the festival circuit, was purchased by Starz and was theatrically released by Bluefox Entertainment in May 2018. In May 2019 Sarah premiered the HBO documentary on USA Gymnastics, titled AT THE HEART OF GOLD at the Tribeca Film Festival which was nominated for an MTV Movie Award. Sarah is currently developing two new documentary feature films for HBO and Netflix.
