Tom Garber

Tom Garber’s professional inspiration is driven by his desire to promote positive change in the human condition by engaging broad audiences on motivating subjects. Mr. Garber expands narrative documentary film boundaries by combining traditional and emerging technologies, exploring alternative dramatic structures, and advancing visual grammar.

He graduated from the Film/Video Department of California Institute of the Arts with a BFA in 1980, where he mentored with Academy Award winning documentary filmmaker Terry Sanders. He then founded 20/20 Video Productions in Manhattan, New York where he shot and editing a variety of commercial and industrial videos. Ten years in this environment honed Mr. Garber’s production skills and found him seeking projects with a more substantial content. This resulted was a move to Hampton Bays, New York and the formation of his documentary production and distribution company, Third Wave Films, and ownership of 12 award winning feature documentaries.
