CINEMA IS EVERYWHERE is a film about what movies mean to the world. It captures the state of the world’s most popular art form today by tying four narratives from around the world together with insights from acclaimed filmmakers and ordinary moviegoers. An aspiring actress in Mumbai; two festival programmers in Scotland; a young film crew in Hong Kong; a Tunisian director with a controversial documentary – these personal stories are woven together with scenes from projection booths, studios, streets and slums into a vivid meditation on the power of cinema to shape our world. Featuring interviews with cinephiles including Javed Akhtar, Shyam Benegal, Mark Cousins, Stanley Kwan, and Tilda Swinton.
