FOREMOTHERS presents evocatively filmed voice-over driven portraits of women musicians whose careers span the history of modern popular music, from the beginnings of R&B rock and roll in the 1950s through the punk rock/new wave movement of the 1970s and early 1980s. The Foremothers project will provide a window into the worlds of living keepers of history, presenting not only a chronological base for their stories in the often male-dominated narrative, but more importantly addressing themes like Vision and Collaboration, Inspiration and Creation, Talent, Skill and Perseverance, Success and Failure and External Obstacles and Mental Blocks.
