I OF THE WATER is a feature documentary that interweaves live action and vivid impressionistic 2D animation to tell the dramatic story of Sia Figiel, a pioneering feminist writer from the Pacific who is bold and open on paper but who privately struggles with myriad pains.
The documentary follows her for more than five years as she seeks to heal physically and mentally and ultimately realizes the true root of her pain — a discovery that will reframe societal notions of abuse, trauma and healing.
