UNSCARRED is the story of survivors, physically scarred through trauma or illness who, despite cultural stigmas or religious traditions, reclaim their bodies through the art of tattoo. UnScarred is a feature-length documentary that tells the story of healing, transformation and reclamation. The film will feature scarred survivors of cancer, paralysis, gender reassignment, rare medical conditions and abuse. The film will shed light on issues of mental health and self-identity through the stories of people fighting to take back control of their bodies. It will challenge viewers to reevaluate tattoo stigmas, and encourage them to question where these taboos originated and if they are still relevant today.
