A long-time producer of science and environmental media, Melissa is now the Waterkeeper for the Great Bay - Piscataqua Estuary with the Conservation Law Foundation. In this position she serves as the eyes, ears and voice of the rivers and bays that make the Seacoast region of NH and Maine such a spectacular place to live, work and play. Melissa founded Cross Current Productions in 1991 which morphed into CrossCurrent Communications, a communications strategy, PR and media production company based in Portsmouth NH. Melissa has produced documentary video about challenging environmental, health and social issues for broadcast, education, outreach, training and marketing for more than 30 years. Two films - Livable Landscapes and Front Wards, Back Wards - were produced in partnership with ITVS, and she recently co-produced a feature-length documentary entitled FOOD FIGHT - Inside the Battle for Market Basket. Her work has aired on public television and has won awards at festivals in the US and abroad.
