Michelle is the founder/executive director of MEDIAGIRLS, a non-profit program that teaches middle-school girls to critique how they're portrayed in mainstream media with an emphasis on creating content that empowers girls and women.
Michelle is the director and a producer of the award-winning documentary Seeking Happily Ever After(www.seekinghappilyeverafter.com), distributed digitally by Lionsgate (2011), and the film and companion book have been featured in The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Forbes, AOL News, Marie Claire, Bust and other publications. In 2014, Michelle distributed her documentary One and Only (www.oneandonlythemovie.com), which looks at what makes one-child families unique.
As a freelancer, Michelle has written and edited for national magazines, including MORE, Your Tango, Psychology Today, Mother Earth News, and Family Fun, and was the Sr. Editor of Girls' Life magazine for five years. Michelle writes about her mothering experiences at Huffington Post.
Michelle has given numerous lectures and workshops for women and girls around the U.S., and has spoken at several women's conferences, including Mom 2.0 Summit, Celebrating Women: Mind, Body & Spirit, and The Worcester Women's Leadership conference.
