My Gold Lining (MGL), is a medical documentary delving into the lives of two African-American women battling a debilitating skin condition called Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS). HS is a chronic skin condition that produces recurring boils in places such as the armpits, groin, back, thighs, buttocks, and stomach. Researchers estimate the condition affects 1-4% of the population with a majority being women.

Antonia Jannee is a beauty influencer from Maryland who was diagnosed with HS in high school. She learns to navigate life as a beauty influencer and having HS. Jasmine “IVANNA” Espy, is the director and producer behind the film. Jasmine’s story explores how naturopathic medicine can be a treatment modality for some patients with HS and how art aids in healing medical traumas.

Dermatologists, psychologists, and naturopathic physicians speak on diagnosis, treatment, advancements, and mental health. It all ties together as an advocacy, awareness, and educational film for both patients and viewers who are unaware of the effects and existence of Hidradenitis Suppurativa.
