Our society tends to focus on the material and physical aspects of giving birth and much less on what it means to become a mother from an emotional and spiritual perspective. No One Told Me is a cinéma vérité style documentary about postpartum, inspired by the filmmaker’s own experience of being utterly unprepared for what happens after giving birth. The film follows first time parents Elise and Marc as they welcome their baby into the world. Their day to day experiences reveal the underlying story of the deeply personal and vulnerable transition into motherhood.
