Danny Berish
Born and raised in Montreal, Danny Berish grew up splicing together old home movies and
crafting playful montages. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from
Concordia University, he created Black Rhino Creative (BRC) with Ryan Mah. The duo’s
shared sensibility led them, in 2019, to be selected to produce “Red Chef Revival”, an
intimate six-part food and travel series exploring modern Indigenous cuisine through the
eyes of three chefs. The series won a Leo Award for Best Direction and a Yorkton Film
Festival Golden Sheaf Award. Danny then went on to direct “Nude to Me” a humorous short
film that took audiences to Canada’s oldest nudist club was produced for CBC Television and
selected at Hot Docs International Films Festival. He then co directed the feature film about
iconic Canadian architect Arthur Erickson with Ryan Mah called “Beauty Between the Lines”
which is currently screening internationally.
