A Dream Displaced is a feature-length documentary that reframes the American Dream through the lens of Black ownership and eminent domain—a government power wielded in the name of “progress” but too often at the expense of Black families and their futures. Centered on a sixth-generation Black landowner in Texas fighting to protect her ancestral farm, the film braids her story with parallel battles in Harris Neck, Georgia and Joliet, Illinois, exposing how systemic injustice severs ties to land, home, and community while celebrating resilience as a blueprint for resistance and a guide to protecting legacy worldwide.
